Vizitsa -Milies-Volos

We depart at 07:00 from Chalkida with our established coffee stop for the beautiful SouthPelion. Our first stop is Vizitsa, which apart from being a traditional settlement is perhaps oneof the most photographed villages on the mountain of the Centaurs. Its mansions dominateimposingly on both sides of the cobblestone streets, they are two-storey and you havecertainly seen them in typical photographs of the area. A trademark of this beautiful village ofPelion is the square and so is the Vizitsa Women's Agrotourism Cooperative "Esperides". Herethe ladies of the village prove in creative ways that anyone who wants to move forward anddevelop (even in the mountain) finds ways! Here we will have free time to enjoy local sweets.Continuing our route Outside the village we will see a bench, this is a must-see spot for aphoto, since here you will feel like you are on the wing of an airplane, we will take photos andcontinue towards MILIES. A village absolutely synonymous with Pelion… As a manor village.Here there is and we will visit the famous library of Milies with rare historical material of theGreek Revolution, the Folklore Museum and the church of the Pammegiston Taxiarches whichwas built during the Ottoman Empire, in a period when Christianity was banned. . The bigsurprises, however, are inside the church. In the pronaos we will observe in the frescoes the“Zodiac Circle”, the “Wheel” of human life, that is, a subject absolutely unlikely to beencountered in an Orthodox holy church. .Continuing we will walk along its cobblestonestreets and get off at the Station, where the legendary Moutzouris ends. and we will visit asmall Museum of Memories. Its walls are filled with stories of Moutzouris from when people'slives hung from its windows. Stay to see its awesome arrival and in what unique way the traindrivers rotate its engine with their own hands, in order to prepare it for the return. Here wewill have lunch and have time to enjoy nature! It's time to visit beautiful Volos!!!
