The Holy Monastery of Loukous is a historic monastery in Arcadia dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Savior. It is located near Astros, next to the Tanos River and very close to the village of Kato Doliana. The monastery of Loukous is today considered one of the most important monastic centers in Arcadia, but also in Orthodoxy in general.

Excursion Programm

We depart at 07:00 in the morning from Chalkida where, with our necessary stop for coffee, we will arrive at the beautiful Holy Monastery of Loukous, a historic monastery in Arcadia dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Savior. Here at the Monastery we will have time to pray and admire the church and its paintings. In the continuation of our excursion we will head to Paralio Astros. At Paralio we will have free time to enjoy our dives on the green-blue beach and we will enjoy our meal in a traditional tavern. Then early in the afternoon we will return to Chalkida with summer images and memories.
