It looks like you threw a bright, white settlement of the Aegean into the chestnut trees on the green slopes of Mount Parnon. This is what Kastanitsa of Arcadia looks like, at first glance. Perched at an altitude of 840 meters, it is one of the oldest mountain villages in northern Kynouria. At the same time, however, it is also the oldest village of Tsakonia... Discover it!

EXCURSION PROGRAMM

Departure from Chalkida in the morning (06:30) where with an intermediate stop in Spathovouni, we will arrive at the mountain village of Kastanitsa to watch the events organized this year by the Educational and Naturalist Association of Kastanitsiotes Everywhere, for the Chestnut Festival. In 1983 the Festival was organized for the first time and during these years, they managed with a lot of effort and passion, to highlight the beneficial properties of chestnut, to make the village known throughout Greece and to establish the Chestnut Festival as one of the most important and popular agricultural/cultural events of our country. Stay for lunch. In the afternoon at about 16:30 we will take the way back having lived once again unforgettable moments!
