We depart at 7:30 from Chalkida, aGer our stop for our usual coffee, we will continue to our destination Mani. Our first stop is the picturesque Oitylo. One of the oldest cites in Mani, the characteris8cs of the region are 67 traditonal stone seKlements, castles, towers that stand proud and Byzantine and post-Byzantine churches withamazing hagiographies. In Oitylo we will walk on the cobblestones and visit the port the tower of the Mavromichalai, the pre-revolutionary symbol of the family's prerevolutionary heyday. The simplicity of its form combined with its size and its architectural excellence is reminiscent of a Byzantine mansion. Then we will head to Areopolis, which was formerly called Tsimova.

As we approach, the first image we see is the stone-built houses, the old churches, the tower houses and of course the paved alleys. Areopolis is a historical place because on 17/03/1821, with the help of the friendly company, the fight against the Turks began from here, and later in the

liberation of Kalamata. Here we will have free time to have lunch in the authentic traditional Mani taverns, admire the architecture of the building and of course walk through the alleys. Early in the aGernoon we will take the road back to Chalkida full of fantastic images and memories.
